Hello Reader,
Happy New Year! 🥳✨
Yes, I know it’s mid-February, but bear with me—if you follow the planets and the lunar cycles, the calendar-based New Year that happened a month ago was just a warm-up.
On the 17th of February, we have a New Moon 🌚 and a very powerful Solar Eclipse 🌞🌚 along with the Lunar New Year.
The cosmos is showing up with a bang and bringing a lot of hectic mental stress along for the ride.
You guys know exactly what I’m talking about.
The World is Getting Wacky, and That’s Why We’re Here
Now, I understand the skepticism about astrology. But the way I see it, thousands of years of consistent observation have shown that certain planetary movements match up with certain events here on Earth.
Correlation is not causation, but the patterns are undeniable.
And right now, we are entering one of the most interesting phases in recorded history.
A few days from now, things are going to start getting seriously intense.
On the 13th of February, we have Saturn entering Aries.
Then, on the 17th of February, we have a New Moon + the Solar Eclipse + the Lunar New Year.
And then, on the 20th of February, we have the conjunction of Saturn and Neptune at exactly 0 degrees of Aries.
Finally, from the 25th of February to the 20th of March, Mercury goes Retrograde.
Let's Unpack This...
Solar Eclipses are like massive charged portals! They create ripple effects that can be seen for weeks before and after the Eclipse. Energies get charged with a little extra zing, if you will.
And when this portal opens, coinciding with the beginning of the Lunar New Year, you know the next year carries a lot of potential.
Potential is powerful - you can wield this energy to your benefit.
This is followed by the Saturn-Neptune Conjunction, which is a massive new beginning—0 degrees Aries. This represents the start of a whole new cycle on the zodiacal wheel. Astrologers believe this specific conjunction at this specific spot has not happened for at least 5,000 years.
We chose to be here, incarnated at this exact point in history, to witness this change, and to participate in the creation of this new world.
It feels hectic, heavy, and a little nuts, but that’s because we are walking into a massive transition.
Our job is to stay strong in ourselves, keep our faith, and be incredibly mindful of the energetic seeds we are planting right now.
Structure, Illusion, and Purpose
The combination of Saturn, Neptune, and Aries is a wild mix of elements (Earth, Water, and Fire, respectively), combining in the fiery, forward-moving domain of Aries. The intensity of this transition demands that we engage our highest spiritual self, ground our practical reality, and consciously manage our relationships.
Tarot: The Soul’s Evolution
In the Tarot, we can analyze this conjunction through three Major Arcana cards:
- Saturn is represented by The World Card (Completion, Cycles).
- Neptune is associated with The Hanged Man (Illusion, Different Perspective).
- Aries is represented by The Emperor (Discipline, Purpose, Hard Work).
Imagine The World and The Hanged Man entering the throne room of The Emperor together. The World card signifies a successful completion—the end of a major cycle, sometimes interpreted as the cycle of karma coming to a close. Juxtaposed against this is The Hanged Man, who is all about illusions and disenchantment, seeing the world from a completely different, upside-down perspective.
The high-level spiritual lesson here is that a new identity (The Emperor) is being forged by taking the disciplined structure of the old cycles (Saturn/World) and merging it with a completely fresh, perhaps illusory, viewpoint (Neptune/Hanged Man). This conjunction is forcing you to gain a deeper understanding of things by questioning what you thought was true, making your faith stronger in the process. Neptune allows for out-of-the-box ideas, and Saturn gives you the structure to make the workable ones find a successful conclusion.
This phase is about consciously defining your purpose.
Lenormand: The Practical Reality
The practical world is going to feel the steam and the heat from this elemental combination (Earth, Water, and Fire). Things will feel heavy and unpredictable.
When we translate the core energies into Lenormand, we are looking at themes of structure, unexpected movement, and potential chaos:
- The Structure/Discipline of Saturn: This is the Tower card (institutions, boundaries, solitude).
- The Illusion/Vagueness of Neptune: This is the Clouds card (confusion, unclear thinking, uncertainty).
- The New Beginning of Aries: This is the Child card (beginnings, starting out, new direction).
Reframe the Re-Do Period
Right as we come to terms with the energies of the Eclipse and the Saturn-Neptune conjunction, Mercury goes Retrograde.
Mercury is the planet of communication, expression, business, and travel.
In short, it has it's fingers in pretty much all aspects of our lives!
The hurdles of Retrograding Mercury often blindside us to the bigger purpose of this time. Mercury Retrograde is also, interestingly, a time to re-do all the things. What this means is, that you get space and time to refine, restructure, rewrite... Re-Do all that you've set into motion.
You get the space you need to reaffirm the very nebulous long-term goals you've just outlined!
I think that's just fabulous!
The practical advice for navigating the period between the eclipse (Feb 17th) and the end of Mercury Retrograde (March 20th) is about discipline. You must follow your spiritual practices with extra discipline to hold yourself steady during this trial.
This is the time to be extra careful about what you set into motion. Because Neptune makes the ideas watery and vague, you are invited to plant intentions that are not yet solidified. Saturn is there to help solidify them later.
An Intention Setting Exercise
The immediate, mundane task is a Brain Dump Exercise.

|
First, get your fears, anxieties, and all the "bonkers" ideas out of your system. Write them down so you express them fully. Then tear it up or burn it off to cleanse your system of all the negatives that are lingering in your psyche.
Next, do a positive brain dump. Write down the hopeful things you want to seed for the next cycle of your life. Focus on positive intentions, as those will grow bigger if you plant them now.

Kipper: The People and Relationships
Kipper cards focus deeply on the interpersonal relationships and domestic spheres that make up our daily life. Since the world around us is going crazy, the people in your life will naturally be catching the same intense energies and vibes.
The core advice during this transition is to be the perfect detached witness.
- The collective feeling of chaos (Neptune’s watery element) can easily seep into your personal space. Doubts and despair may cloud your vision.
- The emphasis on The Main Character (similar to The Emperor in Aries) means that your personal strength and internal faith will be crucial for maintaining structure (Saturn) within your relationships.
- When faced with conflict or confusion in your connections, your first priority is to remain strong in yourself. You need this internal faith to keep you strong when things make you question it.
- Use this time to Plan and Strategize, think and re-think, and clarify the future you want to manifest.
The lesson is this: use your strength to hold your ground without losing your detachment. Don't allow the illusions or panic around you to drag you into unnecessary emotional turmoil. If you are strong, you can better support and witness the transitions of those around you. |
Seeing Patterns in the Cards
If you are a student of the craft, you know that understanding these systems is all about studying the patterns. Astrologers and astronomers have been studying the patterns of the planets for thousands of years. As Card Readers, we study the patterns and symbolism that show up in our lives.
The link between Saturn (The World) and Neptune (The Hanged Man) in Tarot offers a brilliant example of pattern recognition:
- The Numbers: The cards carry the numbers 21 (The World) and 12 (The Hanged Man)—an interesting reversal.
- The Posture: The legs of the World Dancer and the legs of The Hanged Man have a very similar posture.
This connection shows us that deep within the successful completion of The World (Saturn) lies the necessary, often sacrifice-oriented, new perspective of The Hanged Man (Neptune). The two cards are forever connected, reminding us that every ending (World) requires a period of letting go and seeing things differently (Hanged Man) before the next cycle (The Emperor/Aries) can begin. Recognizing these subtle visual connections moves you past just reading keywords into truly understanding the language of the Major Arcana.
